Our family business started in Sorrento (in the main square), with Nicola Gambardella alias "PIEZZ 'E STOCC". A larger than life character that was well known to everyone in Sorrento. Since 1944, his first licence taxi number 8 was a horse and carriage, during war time his carriage was used to transport kegs of wine, olive oil and different household items for local residents in and around the Sorrento area, during this time before the war ended "Nicola" never took any payment, instead he was given local produce such as flour, bread, eggs, fruit and vegetables which during the war years proved more precious than money. After the war lots of Americans & tourists started to visit Sorrento and Nicola bought his first car, his business grew and throughout the changes as the years passed by, his professional services have remained the same.

In 2004 Nicola retired his Grandson Antonio Astarita along with his wife Barbara continued to grow the family business.
